Harvest Home: Sunday, September 10
Each year, we celebrate God’s autumn bounty by giving a portion of it to those who are less fortunate. We ask each member of our church family to bring non-perishable food to church on Harvest Home Sunday. Monetary gifts may go into your special envelope for Harvest Home/Food Bank and placed in the collection plate. These donations will be taken to Lancaster County Council of Churches, Hempfield Area Food Pantry, and our own Food Bank at Church of the Apostles, which supports Apostles Assistance. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Schock at (717) 569-3837.

Ministry Fair
On Sunday, September 10, please join us for worship in the Fellowship Hall. Come early to enjoy breakfast, which will be served by the Outreach Commission.

Wishing Well
Our Apostles Assistance Fund continues to need our support to help people in our community. Pastor Giffen and Pastor Kuhn get many requests for needed personal care and home care items. We especially need shampoo, paper towels, toothpaste and toothbrushes, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish detergent, cleaning supplies, and soap. Please see the posters above the Wishing Well and on the Outreach bulletin board for listed items on sticky notes. Please consider taking a sticky note, purchasing that listed item, and putting it in the Wishing Well in September, October, and the first part of November. We will continue our ministry to support the Apostles Assistance Fund up until our Holiday gifting ministry begins. Thank you for your continued generosity and support of our local community.

Needs: Specifically—cold cereal, rice or rice helpers, pasta, crackers, dry soup, and canned items, including soups, fruits, beans, baked beans, tomatoes, and tuna.

Market Basket
During the first three Sundays of each month, you have the opportunity to buy grocery cards in the office after service. You can buy cards for the following month and pick up the ones you ordered last month. Remember, the discount we earn from purchasing cards in bulk from Giant, Stauffers, and Weis provide food for the Saturday Breakfast downtown once a month. Helping others is easy, as well as a wonderful thing!

Confirmation Class Ice Cream Social
Confirmands, their families, and mentors are invited to an ice cream social today. Please join us in the Youth Center at 3 pm.

Choir Retreat
The 2017 Choir Retreat will be held on Saturday, August 26 at the McKonly homestead from 9:00 am to noon. This is a great opportunity for each current choir member to bring along someone who may also be interested in becoming a choir member. Please attempt to find at least one person to bring to the retreat. This may be someone who is potentially a new church member or a current member seeking a way to enhance his or her Sunday worship. In addition, a corn roast, still prepared by the Bischoffs, will follow all of Saturday’s events!  There is a sign-up list posted in the choir room.

Our present choir is a dedicated group who like to sing and have fun. We can always use more voices, so please consider joining us at the retreat. For directions, or if you have any questions, please see Nathan Sheffer or Cindy Kahler.
