Becoming An Apostle

During the months of October, January, and April, we will be hosting informational sessions on Sunday afternoons at 2 pm in the Youth Center. The purpose of these sessions is to reflect on: “Who are we?” “What do we believe?” and “Where and when are we serving?” These sessions are open to both visitors and members seeking answers to these questions.

New Beginnings

New Beginnings will kick off the 2016-2017 season on Thursday, October 13th in the Fellowship Hall. A dessert social will begin at 1 pm with the program to follow at 1:30 pm. The program will feature Mr. Bill Uyeda, a resident of Homestead, who will speak about his experience in an internment camp during World War II. Come and learn about the life experience of one of our own.

Book Club

The COA book club meets every second Tuesday of the month at 2 pm in the library.  Please join us on Tuesday, September 13 to discuss Anchor and Flares by Kate Braestrup.  In October, we will discuss A Fall of Marigolds-Susan by Susan Meisener. We are happy to have new people join us!

Widows Support Group

Widows who are looking for others to talk with about the loss of a spouse are invited to join Pastor Kuhn on Wednesday, August 31 in the Parlor from 9:30-11:00 am. Refreshments and snacks will be shared with those who are looking for this conversation. Church members and non-members are welcome.

Widower Support Group

On Wednesday, August 17 at 3 pm, Rev. Kathryn Kuhn will facilitate a group discussion on the life changes that follow the loss of a spouse. Recognizing that your journeys are all different, we thought this may be an outlet for you to find support and to support others in their respective experiences. We will have coffee and pastries for your enjoyment and hope you will seriously consider attending. Please call the church office at (717) 392-5718 if you would like to join us.

Church Campout

ALL members of the congregation are invited to come to the church campout in Rader Park from Saturday, August 13—Sunday, August 14. Activities will include fishing, stream games, and more; dinner at the Pavillion; Vespers led by Pastor Heather; a Sunday School movie preview; a campfire and smores; and breakfast at the Youth Center.

We hope to see you there!
