40th Anniversary Celebration
On May 17, 2015, we will celebrate the beginning of our 40th year with an anniversary celebration. Please mark this date on your calendar and plan to join us at either service (9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.). As part of the celebration, Rev. Nora Smith—the first congregant to join COA’s pastoral team—will be joining us. Memorabilia from the early years will be displayed, and our Parish Life Commission will host our fellowship time between services with plenty of goodies to enjoy.
New Beginnings
Join us for a Dessert Social and presentation on the plight of Lancaster’s Homeless given by Doug Hopwood from the “Transition Learning Center” (Tabor Industries). We will meet on Thursday, May 14th at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Talent Show
Join us for a night of fun and talent on May 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!
The Apostles Children’s Choir will be performing the National Anthem at the Barnstormers game in Clipper Stadium on Monday, May 18th!
Please consider coming out to support our congregation and our children in this exciting opportunity! Since Sunday, May 17th is our 40th Anniversary, we will be using this opportunity as a fundraiser to raise money for the Lancaster County Council of Churches Food Hub.
For each ticket sold, COA will raise $4.00.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Ministry
On May 2nd, Church of the Apostles will be serving breakfast to the hungry at First Reformed UCC on Orange Street. Beginning at 8 a.m. a breakfast consisting of eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereal, orange juice, baked goods, coffee, tea, and milk will be prepared and served to approximately 200 appreciative guests.
15-20 volunteers (no experience necessary!) are needed each month for this worthy ministry. If you are interested in volunteering any first Saturday from 8-10:30 a.m. please contact Julie Berkow jberkow6@comcast.net.
Heritage & Horizons
Come stretch your mind with us on Tuesday mornings this April 7-May 5 from 9:30 a.m.—11:50 a.m., and enjoy refreshments and fellowship during our 20-minute mid-morning break.
Garage Sale
Our annual Garage Sale will be held on:
Friday, April 10 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Saturday, April 11 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
In the Fellowship Hall – West Narthex.
Easter Sunday Worship with Communion
Our Easter celebration begins in Rader Park at 7 a.m. as we watch the sun rise over the trees and consider the time when the women who journeyed to the tomb found it empty. We will share communion.
Easter church services – at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. – will be triumphant celebrations complete with additional vocalists and orchestra to create a rich musical sound.
Good Friday Worship
On the 1st Friday in April from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., contemplating the meaning of the cross with the traditional reading from Mark’s gospel. We will incorporate art work into the service as well as giving voice to some who observed the events.
