The concert on Sunday, November 23 at 3:00pm features The Dark Moon Octet, performed by TRP (The Reese Project), which blends neoclassical sounds with real jazz. It features a jazz quartet made up of alto flute, piano, bass, & drums, as well as a flute quartet made up of flute, violin, viola, and cello. The instrumentation highlights the juxtaposition of jazz and classical music. Commissioned in 2014 by the Lancaster Summer Arts Festival, it has been called “a modern masterpiece” by a reviewer for JazzTimes.
This is a free-will offering performance.
