Week of April 2, 2017
Food Bank
Needs: Specifically—cold cereal, rice or rice helpers, pasta, crackers, dry soup, and canned items, including soups, fruits, beans, baked beans, tomatoes, and tuna.
Market Basket
During the first three Sundays of each month, you have the opportunity to buy grocery cards in the office after service. You can buy cards for the following month and pick up the ones you ordered last month. Remember, the discount we earn from purchasing cards in bulk from Giant, Stauffers, and Weis provide food for the Saturday Breakfast downtown once a month. Helping others is easy, as well as a wonderful thing!
Lenten Service
On Wednesday, April 5 at 7 pm, our Lenten service will focus on the topic The Gift of Temptation and will include a video clip with Parker Palmer.
Apostles Academy of Arts and Sciences Recital

Easter Cleanup
On Saturday, April 8th at 8 am, the Property Commission is having a cleanup session to freshen up the outside of the church for Easter. You can help for as long as you are able to. Bring your lawn rakes to gather up leaves and trash and hand cultivators to loosen up the mulch. We will begin work at the front of the church. Hope to see you there!
Duo Chiaroscuro: Silence Optional Concert
A Silence Optional Concert titled Song and Dance will be held at COA on Saturday, April 8 at 11 am in the Sanctuary. This program was especially designed for children who struggle to sit quietly for long periods of time, or have special needs. The program is less than an hour long and includes short breaks throughout.
New Beginnings
Old Man Winter put a damper on February’s get together, but April’s meeting should flush out the winter blues. On April 13 at 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall, we will have a dessert social and speaker, Terry White, will join us. Mr. White will be discussing “Outhouses”—yes, outhouses. Bingo is going to team up with our end-of-the-year picnic and hymn sing in June.
