Week of August 6, 2017

Food Bank
Needs: Specifically—cold cereal, rice or rice helpers, pasta, crackers, dry soup, and canned items, including soups, fruits, beans, baked beans, tomatoes, and tuna.

Market Basket
During the first three Sundays of each month, you have the opportunity to buy grocery cards in the office after service. You can buy cards for the following month and pick up the ones you ordered last month. Remember, the discount we earn from purchasing cards in bulk from Giant, Stauffers, and Weis provide food for the Saturday Breakfast downtown once a month. Helping others is easy, as well as a wonderful thing!

Youth Family Cookout
Confirmands and senior high youth and their families and invited to join us for a cookout on Sunday, August 13 from 5:30-8:00 pm in Rader Park. The church will provide the burgers, hot dogs, and utensils. Please bring a side dish to share.

Questions for Conversation Surveys
In a letter to the congregation in early July, Pastor Kuhn  included a “Questions for Conversation” survey, requesting that each member complete one and return it to Pastor Heather Giffen. If you have not already done so, please return your completed survey to Pastor Heather Giffen at your earliest convenience so that Pastor Kuhn can share the responses with the congregation when she returns.

Throughout the remainder of the summer, we will continue to collect needed items for Elizabeth Martin Elementary School. Their needs include: tissues, underwear for boys and girls, navy blue pullover sweatshirts all sizes youth to young adult, disinfectant wipes (such as Clorox wipes), reusable shopping bags for the Power Pack recipients, and daily planners. Thank you for your continued support!

  • Next time you post a video or photo taken at a COA event to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or Instagram, please remember to tag @churchoftheapostleslancaster.
  • Use our church hashtag #COAUCC on all posts.
  • Email your photos and videos to michellea@apostlesucc.org.
