When are your services, and what are they like?
We gather for worship each Sunday morning at 10 AM for a combined worship service. Our 10 AM service has been designed to accomodate those who enjoy both contemporary and traditional worship styles. The more contemporary feel and tends to attract many young families. This service makes use of our sanctuary’s multimedia projection system, various praise-hymn supplements to our regular hymnal, and our overhead screens for enhanced viewing of the words to the songs and prayers we use.
How long are our Sunday Worship Services?
Our Sunday worship services are generally an hour long. To learn more about our Worship Times and Procedures, Click Here.
Who are you, and what do you believe?
We come from many different faith backgrounds, and from families with no particular faith background. We range in age from newborns to retirees, and include singles, couples, and families. We include residents of Homestead Village, a retirement community, with whom we share a campus; families whose children attend our preschool program; people who live within a few miles of our building; and people who drive many miles to worship with us each week.
We believe in welcoming everyone regardless of who they are, or where they are on their own individual faith journey. While we may differ in our worship preferences, our congregation affirms Jesus Christ as Savior and as the sole head of our church. United under Christ, we maintain that all believers are equal in God’s eyes, and we therefore work for a just and loving world where all of God’s children live as equals. Above all, we believe that God is still speaking to us today, and that we are called to listen for God’s still-speaking voice.
What about kids? Do you have childcare or Sunday school?
We do not currently provide childcare or nursery care.
However, we do offer Sunday school classes, now called faith formation classes, for children age three through grade six. Children at this service usually begin worship with their families, and then leave for Sunday school after the children’s sermon.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you like! On a given Sunday we have members in jeans as well as members in suits, ties, and dresses. We believe that God cares more about the state of our hearts than the state of our attire, and encourage you to dress the way that feels most appropriate to you.
Where do I go, and where do I park?
We have plenty of free parking in front of the church building. Our sanctuary is in the round end of the building. The easiest way to get there is to enter the doorway at the covered entrance, where one or more greeters will welcome you. Once you’re inside the door, the sanctuary is straight ahead.
Children are welcome in our worship and there is a toy corner by the “Go & Do Like Wise” poster. Our parlor is the first room on your left where you may watch the service via a monitor and allow your children to play and make noise. We also have a nursery available as the next room on your left where more toys are available and you may listen to the service.
The church office and restrooms are down the hall on your right. We encourage you to check out the information at the Welcome Center just inside the door for all of our latest information!
What about special needs?
Outside, we have lots of marked parking spaces for those with physical limitations, as well as several spaces reserved for visitors and seniors. Inside, our single-level building is accessible to all. In our sanctuary, we have hearing-assistance devices, all bulletins are large print, spaces for wheelchairs, and lumbar support cushions. Using the projection system during the both services also makes the words to prayers and hymns easy to read in a large font.
