In the early 1970s, as St. Paul’s and St. John’s churches merged, a vision for a shared campus featuring a new church and a senior living community took shape. This vision became Homestead Village, Inc., a nonprofit organization governed independently from Church of the Apostles UCC. The first cottage was occupied in 1983, marking the beginning of a thriving partnership. Over the years, Homestead Village expanded to include Westview, an assisted living facility, additional apartments, and essential spaces like a chapel, offices, the Club Room, and a public physical therapy center. Today, the community consists of 112 apartments, 30 cottages, 44 villas, 24 personal care units, and 58 skilled nursing beds. A new apartment building currently under construction will add 73 more residences, continuing the legacy of growth and service.
